| U11 Lionesses - Team Summary | News |
Introduction
The U10 Lionesses are open to girls in years 4 and 5 at School. We have a keen group, some of whom have been playing for years, others who are relatively new. The girls come from a mixture of primary Schools in the area. We train alongside the younger girls on Saturday mornings on Sheen Common. The emphasis at this age is to have an hour of good exercise while developing individual techniques. We make sure the sessions are fun and enjoyable through a variety of games in small groups. While the emphasis may be on fun, the coaching is provided by qualified and experienced FA Level 2 coaches who are up to date with current FA coaching philosophies emphasising the development of a love of the game and individual technique rather than winning matches. We arrange friendly matches two or three times a term and compete in one or two tournaments in the summer. In the summer of 2010, the squad won the Plate Competition at the Molesey Tournament and in December the team played an enjoyable friendly against Tedlothian. The priority however is to spend most of our time developing good techniques away from a competitive match situation. We are open to any girl of the right age who wishes to join us, irrespective of ability or experience. Please contact Bob Ukiah ) or simply turn up at Sheen Common on a Saturday morning.(ukiah@sheenlions.com |
